Hey everyone,

Welcome to another edition of me sharing new insights and experiences about LinkedIn. If you are active on LinkedIn and use inkiro ai, you’re gonna love this one.

Today, it’s all about humor and funny content. Let’s dig into it. 😅

Humor-based content outperforms “professional” posts

I don’t know about you but I see more and more humor on LinkedIn and I love it!

While LinkedIn is supposed to be a “professional” social network, you don’t have to be serious all the time. People are people after all and we all love a good laugh.

Memes, parody accounts, complete marketing campaigns based on jokes, joking about your boss, etc, all of these are performing incredibly well. People love it because it’s such a nice break from what’s normal on LinkedIn.

Reach is given to those who dare to look stupid.

How memes let you talk about serious topics in a playful way

If a picture is worth a thousand words, a meme is worth millions. Memes simplify real industry problems into something people instantly understand and can crack a laugh about.

Yes, you can have a “serious” position, talk about “serious” issues with a playful twist, and still look professional. Good memes build a highly engaged audience because:

  • They act as pattern breakers which makes people stop scrolling
  • People share them with colleagues who relate
  • They create a strong sense of authenticity because humor feels honest

What I see working on LinkedIn

One of the key things I found out recently is that comments are getting a lot more reach (sometimes a lot more than my own posts). We knew comments were important but now that we see the reach they get, we can put a number to them.

This one below reached 25k impressions (I used humor 😉) and brought me a lot of profile visits and new followers/connections.

Pro tip of the week

A very cool product to create memes is https://www.memelord.com/ by Jason (aka the Memelord himself). It’s very useful to keep up with all the new memes that pop up every day since they alert you about it.

Another alternative is https://imgflip.com/memegenerator in case you want to use all the popular meme templates out there.

Wrapping up

Alright, so the tl;dr is: LinkedIn used to be formal, not anymore. Humor is welcome, jokes and memes are not only well accepted but rewarded.

Humor grabs attention because people do not expect it on LinkedIn. Content feels more human and relatable. You should try it!
